Chat Ler was born in Karen State, Burma (Myanmar). He fled to Thailand due to civil war, military oppression, and persecution, and lived there in a refugee camp for two decades. Along with their six children, he and his wife were resettled in the United Stated in 2010. Chat Ler worked in manufacturing before he joined the Ohio City Farm team in March 2025, putting to use many years of experience farming at home in Burma.
